Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1st, 2025

FLYWITHPAX INC. (“Pax,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Pax iOS and Android apps and the systems that support them (the “Platform”).

Pax is a social app for travelers. You can log trips, share reviews, follow other members, and optionally import past travel. We are not an airline, booking site, or payment processor, and we do not collect payment card numbers.

By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service. Questions: hello@flywithpax.com.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile. When you register or edit your profile, we collect information such as your name, username, email address, password, bio, home airport, photos, and visibility settings. We use your email for verification, password reset, and support. Other members cannot see your email. Pro and verified marks are staff-assigned badges, not a paid product.

Your activity. We collect the trips, ratings, captions, comments, likes, follows, blocks, and reports you create, plus stats derived from that activity (for example miles and badges). Unpublished drafts are visible only to you.

Public vs. private. A public profile and its posts may be seen by other members. A private account is visible in search, but other members must follow you (and, where required, be approved) before they can see your account and posts. Private activity is not shown in public discovery surfaces.

Optional imports. You may upload a travel-history file from another app, or connect Gmail to import trips. File imports are used to create drafts; we do not keep the original file. Gmail import is described in Section 3.

Technical data. Our servers may receive standard connection data (such as IP address, device and app information, timestamps, and diagnostic logs) and may store session tokens and in-app preferences on your device. We do not collect precise GPS location. We do not currently use advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not send push notifications.

Device permissions. Camera, photos, and file access are optional and used only for features you choose (profile images or file import). You can deny or revoke them in device settings.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

- provide and maintain your account and the Platform;

- process content and imports you request;

- send necessary account email;

- provide support;

- protect safety, security, and integrity, and enforce our Terms;

- improve the Platform; and

- comply with law.

We do not use your import data to advertise to you.

3. Google / Gmail (Limited Use)

Gmail import is optional. If you connect a Google account, you grant read-only access so we can find travel-related messages and turn them into drafts for you to review. Nothing is published unless you choose to publish it. Your Google account email must match your Pax email.

Pax’s use of information received from Google APIs complies with the [Google API Services User Data Policy](https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.

We use Google user data only to provide and improve this import feature. We do not sell it, use it for ads, or use it to train models. We do not keep full email contents. We may keep limited records needed to operate the feature (including to avoid processing the same item twice) and the trip details you save on Pax. We retain Google access only as long as needed to complete the import you requested.

We use Google, including Google’s automated tools, solely to help extract trip details from relevant messages. Our personnel do not browse inboxes. They may access data only as needed to operate, secure, or debug the service, with your consent, or as required by law.

You may disconnect Gmail by not using the feature again and by revoking access at [https://myaccount.google.com/permissions](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).

4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information.

We share information:

- with other members, according to your public/private settings;

- with service providers that help us run the Platform (for example U.S. cloud hosting and, if you use Gmail import, Google). When you look up a flight, we may also query a third-party flight-information service for that lookup;

- if you share content through your device’s share sheet, with the app you choose;

- for legal, safety, or enforcement reasons; and

- in a business transaction, such as a merger or sale of assets.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you. We will not share your information with unaffiliated parties for their marketing unless you opt in.

5. Your choices

In the App you can edit your profile, change public/private settings, edit or delete your posts and drafts, block or report others, skip Gmail import, manage device permissions, log out, and delete your account.

Transactional account emails cannot be turned off while your account exists. We do not currently send marketing email or push notifications.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined by U.S. state law. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You can handle many requests in the App. The App does not include a self-serve export tool; email hello@flywithpax.com and we will work with you. We may need to verify your identity.

California. The categories we collect are those in Section 1 (identifiers, profile and account data, travel activity you log, device/network data, photos you upload, and inferences such as badges). We use and disclose them as described in this Policy. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.

7. Legal bases (EEA/UK and similar)

Where required, we process information to perform our contract with you, with your consent (optional features), for legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, and to meet legal obligations.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep information as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Platform, and as required for security, disputes, and law.

Backups are retained for 30 days. Google access used for an import is not kept longer than needed to complete that import.

If you delete your account, we delete your account and related content, including posts and their effect on public rankings. Your username is released. We may retain reports and information needed for safety, legal compliance, or backups (for the backup period above).

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. No system is completely secure. Use a strong unique password and contact us if you think your account is compromised.

10. International transfers

FLYWITHPAX LLC is organized in Delaware. We process and store information in the United States. If you use the Platform from another country, your information will be transferred to the U.S., where privacy laws may differ.

11. Children

The Platform is a general-audience service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it. Where local law sets a higher digital age of consent, you must meet that age (or have required parental consent) to use the Platform.

12. Other services

The Platform may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are their own.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy and will post the revised version with a new effective date, plus additional notice if the law requires it. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
